Nice.

I love the ones showing the street with the cab and the person (and empty). That is just a hoot.

Okay, if you're trying to scare us away....it's kind of working!

I'm replying to your e-mail right now!

I'm never going to complain about the amount of snow we get here - again!
I guess your only consolation is that it'll disappear pretty fast once it starts!

Wow. I've been to Kotzebue in the winter, but never saw as much snow as this up there! (I'm from Anchorage)

My dad grew up in Minnesota in the 1930's and I remember him showing me photos of snowdrifts this deep, just 50 miles north of Minneapolis 70 years ago. The farmers went into and out of their houses via the second floor windows for several weeks.

Although it's somewhat rare, evidently Mother Nature can bear down and do this any time she wants to, anywhere it snows!

I'm kind of glad the storms left so much snow there, because that way we here in Barrow didn't get (quite) as much :-)

So, exactly when will all that stuff MELT?

Anonymous said...

Most of the melting happens in May (especially the last 2 weeks of May), but there is still snow in the deep gullies well into June and July.

Reminds me of growing up in Teller where the snow came like that in October & stayed till the end of May.

We have a lot of snow here in Nome...but haven't had that much since the very late 80's/early 90's

I hate snow.

Gee Whiz! If I ever saw that much snow at one time, I'd go blind. :-) Now I totally feel guilty for saying that it's chilly here. Bad, bad, me.....

I miss Kotzebue so deeply. I've been away for many, many years and cannot find a way back. Thank you for sharing.
