Polar Bear Rumors

Some of you may remember last January when I wrote about a Polar Bear that was shot my a hunter near the village of Noorvik. It seems that we have another polar bear wandering around well inland of their usual stomping grounds. This time there are reports of people seeing one on the Noatak Flats at the treeline near the village of Noatak. There have also been rumors of people seeing it near where the Eli enters the Noatak River.

How scary from a human standpoint. How awful from an environmental one. I don't suppose the polar bears would be coming in if their usual food source was still there. I'm afraid you are the bellwether for the rest of us, warning us of the mess we've made.

I can't believe they shot it. So sick. It was a juvenile for crying out loud. Glad to see Fish & Game and Fish & Wildlife doing nothing about it as usual.
I hope the garbage that shot it enjoys their quick buck.
