605

.
I was putting together a blog post and while I was working on it I noticed something.

This blog post is post number 605. Six hundred and five posts. Holy cow! I have to tell you that when I first started this whole thing I NEVER would have imagined how far it would go. I certainly never though I would stick with it a month much less two years and 605 posts.

So then I thought "I wonder how many photos I have used in this blog?" The answer is easy to get. It says it right on my photobucket account. Two thousand three hundred thirty three photos (not including the two used for this post)! And that's only the photos that have been used in this blog. No wonder I clogged up the entire hard drive on my computer.

This blog, which started out as a way to show family back east some photos of Uyaana and whatnot has really become a labor of love. It is a lot of work. There are times when I really don't feel like uploading photos, or getting off my butt to take photos, or trying to think of comentary to write with the photos...but then I remember that there are people, literally hundreds of people, checking in here each day. So now I feel sorta...well...responsible for all of you and I worry if there is nothing new here for you to see each day. It never ceases to amaze me that so many people think that my life in my little corner of the world is interesting. So even though it is a lot of work, I truly enjoy blogging and I feel lucky that I get to share this place with all of you, and I am grateful for all the people I have gotten to know.

Anyway, I just thought that was neat. Here's to another 605 posts.

Congratulations on the milestone. Much of my thoughts on blogging parallel yours, and I'm constantly amazed at the amount of people from all over the world who keep returning to mine, what I assumed would only be read by family and friends who wanted to be kind.

Keep up the blogging, I'm enjoying your work.

That's why I started blogging too... My mother-in-law and sister-in-law were on xanga aready and finaly talked me into joining.

I don't think I have as many readers as you, but I've gotten to know people, a couple in real life and made friends as well.

No pressure though. ;-) It's all for fun. We may check every day, but it's ok if you don't post every day. LOL (I've gotten bad and don't post as often mysef lately)

I wanted to record Key West and the Keys before they changed yet again and I forgot what used to be where. At least I have never posted pictures of dissected whales. A fast of which I should be proud but feel rather deprived.Reading your blog makes me look forward to winter and preposterous snow drifts again.

I really enjoy looking at your blog. Here is my routine lol Come home from work, eat dinner, do the dishes, sit on my recliner, open my laptop and click on your blog which sit on the right side corner of my desktop. Then my mind is at home again the best part is looking at the pictures that you post. This makes me feel connet to home. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us.

I use your blog to see how my daughter is living--she is a neighbor of yours. I have also made a new friend in Kotzebue---thanks.

I remember when you were just a little girl, telling me that you wanted to be a pioneer when you grew up. Needless to say I was more than a little concerned when you packed up and headed to Alaska because someone you had only spoken to a once or twice, said they had a job waiting for you.

I too check in daily to see what's
happening in Kotzebue. It has become an addiction. But a nice one to have.

Cathy, it gives me great comfort knowing that you have found "your place" on this earth. Your willingness to share with anyone that is interested is a gift to us that most will never be able to repay.

I proud of the person that you have grown to be. Keep up the great blog.

I love you

Dad

P.S. Now if we could just do something about you eating habits......I mean really...Fish head soup? YUK!!
