I have been a bit under the weather the last couple days so I haven't posted much. Yesterday was the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. We had about 1 hour and 37 minutes of sun above the horizon (just barely above) and about 5 hours and 47 minutes of visible light. When I say visible light you can imagine evening dusk for most for that. Today is 35 seconds longer than yesterday, the sun will rise at 12:57pm and set at 2:36pm. Tomorrow will be 1 minute and 24 seconds longer than today.
