Things to See in Anchorage

Traffic!

Butthead in a big bus with no blinker....in traffic!

Lotsa frikkin' traffic!

Kids selling an oosik on the corner of a major intersection.

Exciting stuff, I know.

I notice gas prices in Anchorage is about what it is in Southern Calif. now.

I hate Los Anchorage's traffic. I avoid the town like the plague, but last year I was in town. It's like the whole town is in a hurry to be somewhere, but it has no clue where it's going. It's the last thing you want after driving most of a day to get there, because you're mentally fried when you get there...

I noticed gas prices too. About 30 cents more than in Denver. Traffic can be the same here - it depends on time of day and the highway your on.

one of Anchorage's dependable features of course! Doesn't look like the Seward Hwy or 5th/6th at rush hours though. Blech!

that 2nd pic, with the bus, is 10 seconds from where i live. Traffic seems to have doubled over the past week.

But I will take it over traffic in Charlotte, or any major lower 48 city!!

Yikes..one of the reasons we hated living in Anchorage. It's worse in the middle of winter.

that traffic didn't bother me at all, but I'll probably always be a city slicker and you've morphed into a county bumpkin!

now about that fossilized penis bone............

Wow! Who knew that Anchorage had so many of the same sights at Atlanta. Except for the oosik..eww!

Yeah, their gas prices aren't nearly as bad as I'd envisioned up there. Only about 30 cents more than ours and ours run lower than alot of the country.

Of all the things I'd expect to see in Anchorage, traffic wouldn't be one of them. A moose or maybe some snow, but not traffic. I didn't know that many people even LIVED in Anchorage, lol.

I agree with Karen..while traffic in Anchorage can really stink, its nothing compared to the lower 48. Having moved to Alaska from the Seattle area I will gladly deal with the traffic here than the bumper-to-bumper mess you can find on I-5, or I-95 back east.

You've reconfirmed my reasons for living (and staying put) in a village. Glad to see you survived! :)

lol. This is funny. I moved up to Anchorage a few years ago from Florida -- and am STILL amazed at how 'little' traffic there is! But that's more of a condemnation of Florida than it is compliment to Anchorage. Heh.
