Twitter

.

What's the deal with Twitter?? Honestly I cannot figure it out. I have a Myspace (that I rarely visit), and a Facebook (that I spend entirely too much time on)....but I just can't get into twitter. And really, do I need ANOTHER social networking thinger? I do have a twitter account but to tell the truth I haven't actually tweeted. I have read other people's tweets and just don't see the allure. To me it seems that it is like Facebook, only without the photos and general fun of it. I have some followers on twitter but poor things have nothing to follow.

So tell me, do you use twitter?? What's so great about it??

I'm not a twit, either, but check facebook more than I like to admit. I'm told that twitter just takes getting used to, but I don't need another addiction!

I use Twitter. (I'm @BlackMoonEyes.) Twitter is a conversation, and you can choose to jump in or jump out, or just listen to what other people are saying.

There are a lot of stupid people on Twitter. You just don't follow them, and it's like they're not even there.

I've never gotten the appeal of Twitter either. Just isnt my thing. Now Facebook, thats an entirely different matter. I spend WAY too much time on there!

Hi, my name is tricia, and i'm a tweeter.

well I was.

I gave it up with my cell phone nearly a year ago and I don't miss it one bit!

it was all part of that rush rush rush, stay connected but never really connect with people life that I used to live.

I'm free!!

I have a twitter, because some dear friends of mine (who live all over the place) are on it. I like reading their tweets, because they tweet about funny things they see and do. Some times they tweet pictures. I follow them there, because I hate Facebook. Hate it with the fiery passion of a thousand suns. I used to have one (to keep up with friends), but like you with Twitter, I just could not get into Facebook. Didn't like the format and user-interface. Found it to be a very pointless site; all these silly games and widgets, yuck! I do have a Myspace (different set of friends are into Myspace, so that's why I have one of those accounts to follow and share things). Some times I do get a bit tired of all the social networking thingies. Eight years ago, all the above mentioned friends had Livejournal accounts and that is all I needed to keep up with them and to share things with them. Now it seems I'm chasing my pals all over the internet.

No twittering here because I've just never understood the allure in it. I'm trying to keep facebook at a decent level - but I probably spend too much time on reading blogs and writing on my own....

No twitter for me either. I am on facebook though. All my family is out of state, so it's been a nice way to keep in touch, share pictures, etc. and I think it's easier and less time consuming than my xanga blog. How much time I spend on it varies by day--you can tell when I'm bored. lol I don't do all the little games and all though.

Best use of twitter I've seen is for groups or people who want to make serial announcements about their events. Scores from a local basketball tournament; a senate energy committee hearing; or news organizations (KBBI.org in Homer for example, or CoastAlaska.org) letting followers know what stories are ready for them to listen to.

I don't see much utility for facebook-like interaction, but see twitter as more as a top-down, one-way alert system, which it excels.

Oh, and through twitpic, you can share photos, too. Much like the guy who broke all the news of that jet landing in the Hudson River last year.

I'm the only one in my family who refuses to do Facebook. Follow whatever interests you. Farming #agchat, preachers, #alaska, it is proven the fastest news source in the world. @rodrigobno, @breakingnews, @mpoppel who started @breakingnews and sold it to MSNBC.

I follow news sources from all over the world and get news instantly. You can see the news sources and farmers and preachers I'm following at @preacherskidd

rodrigobno and mpoppel started @breakingnews and acquired a million and half followers. They recently sold it to MSNBC who now operates @breakingnews.

rodrigo and mpoppel now run bnonews.com
