Welcome Home to Kotzebue's Conquering Hero!

.

Lots of people were at the airport to meet 2011 Iditarod Champion, John Baker, as he got off the jet this afternoon.

Then a parade of vehicles followed him the school where there was a reception with coffee and cookies.

Thank you so much for posting these videos! I agree with Denise, it's good to be able to be part of the excitement of home, even from the lower '48. I was bummed I couldn't hear his speech in person, but it was great getting to hear in on-line! Thanks again!

I.Love. This. Post.
I love that John is a storyteller.
I love the dancing, that it is young AND old. I love the sense of community that you have there. And I am SUPER proud of John Baker. What a quality guy, who totally deserved a win!
