What does the color dark green make you think of
Right now the color green makes me think of trees, leaves, grass, bushes, weeds, moss, lichen.....ahhh summer. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate winter. If I did I certainly wouldn't be living in the arctic....but after almost 6 months of winter I am ready to smell spring in the air. *sigh* Another month and a half to go.

How many cousins do you have?
Myself I have 9 first cousins. That's it. I don't know any extended cousins beyond that. Uyaana, on the other hand has 46 first cousins! Uyaana's dad had at least 49 first cousins. It would take me hours to figure out Uyaana's second and third cousins. There would be hundreds, almost all of which live in Kotzebue. The poor kid will have to import a wife.

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how honest are you?
Maybe an 8. Kinda ironic question...is everybody answering honestly about how honest they are??? I am a pretty honest person. When I do lie it is usually to protect someone...you know..."Does this shirt make me look fat?" "Do you think my speech was good?" That sort of thing. It can be hard to be "tactful" and "truthful" at the same time.
Main Course
Name something that is truly free.
Something that is truly free. That is a tough one. It depends on what your definition of free is. I suppose someone could argue that there is some sort of "price" to everything. I know some people could say that faith is free, but is it really? There is often a human toll to faith.

Friday Feast
Appetizer
Have you ever played a practical joke on anyone? If so, what did you do and who was your victim? In high school I was part of the tech crew that did the behind the scenes stuff for the theatre productions. We had just gotten in a shipment of brand new lighting equipment packed in big boxes of styrofoam peanuts.....lots and lots of styrofoam peanuts. So thinking myself quite the practical joker I thought I
would take those peanuts and pour them into the car of one of the cast members. It was a windy day and when the guy went out and opened the door to his car zillions of little white peanuts got picked up by the wind and blew all over like a raging non-biodegradeable blizzard. Well he wasn't very happy about that and went inside and told what had happeded. The Tech crew director was about two stages beyond mad and found out it was me. I heard all about the enviornmental ramifications of zillions of styrofoam peanuts let loose upon our forests and streams. I was given a trash bag and told to start collecting them....easier said than done. I spent several hours chasing peanuts around the parking lot and picking them out of the stream.

What do your salt and pepper shakers look like? I have two salt and pepper shakers. One set is from Tupperware. They are tall and have reddish pink tops. The other set are little glass ones with silver tops.

Where is the next place you plan to visit (on vacation or business)? The next trip I'm taking will be for business. I'm leaving for Juneau on monday for three nights. Juneau is in southeast Alaska at the base of a big mountain and under several huge avalance shutes. Very disconcerting. Thankfully it's VERY beautiful there and that helps to distract you from the possibility of being buried alive beneath 9,000 tons of snow.

What kind of lotion or cream do you use to keep your hands from getting too dry?My hands are so terrible that I have given up putting lotion on them. No amount of lotion makes them any better. If I do put something on my hands I prefer it be not too greasy and not too stinky.
Dessert
Make up a dessert, tell us its ingredients, and give it a name.
Huh? Ummm.....I'm not one for fancy desserts...I prefer ice cream.

What is your middle name? Would you change any of your names if you could? If so, what would you like to be called?
My middle name is Sandra. It's ok. I have no problem with my middle name. Changing your name is such a monumental pain in the ass so no, I would never change it.
Soup
If you were a fashion designer, which fabrics, colors, and styles would you probably use the most?
This is a silly question. I hate buying clothes and I have never even given a thought to making them. If I had to design them I guess I would say long sleeves because that is the most practical year round garb here. Darker colors so that the blood, seal oil and fish gut stains don't show. Rugged fabric so I don't have to go through the agony of picking out new clothes and buying them that often.

What is your least favorite chore, and why?
I dislike all chores pretty equally...but for some reason I really hate putting folded clothes away. I don't mind washing them and folding them but there is just something about putting them away that I just don't like.

What is something that really frightens you, and can you trace it back to an event in your life?
I would have to say heights. Funny, when I was a kid I wasn’t afraid of heights. I would climb trees and ladders and play in the hay loft with not even a thought of falling. Not anymore. No ladders, no ledges, no steep hills beyond a certain height. I can’t even go on the escalator on the 5th Avenue mall in Anchorage because of the open architecture. I do ok on escalators with walls on either side…as long as the handrail isn’t moving faster than the stairs! Glass elevators make me cringe. I even start to swoon when watching movies where people are hanging from the edge of a building. The older I get the worse it is.
The weirdest thing about my fear of heights is that is does not pertain to air travel. Small planes, medium planes, big jets, they are all no problem. I can look out the window at any altitude and have no fear of heights…..go figure. It’s a good thing though considering the thousands of miles I fly every year.

I'm sitting at the computer desk in the "dining room" which is more like the dining nook. Geez I can see a hundred things.....most of which is quite boring and ordinary. It's hard to pick three? Ummm....1. A bottle of Cantu Shea Butter Super Shine Hair Silk.
2. My iPod 3. Two pairs of my son's outgrown mukluks hanging on the wall.
