Mosquito Swarm

Photobucket
These are swarming male mosquitoes. They hover above the tundra like a big black cloud. The good news is they don't bite.

Photobucket
The bad news is that they go up your nose and down your throat and in your eyes. Yuck.

I can hardly believe how BIG they look -- more like birds. Sheesh. Does mosquito repellent work with these monsters?

We get bad swarms too! I am British but live in Lapland, Finland.. Mosquitoes are the bane of Summer!

My son wants to live in Alaska..somewhere that is even quieter than where we are! So I just clicked your survey for him.. he is 16 years old.
