Quick Boat Ride To Camp
.
Last night we took a quick boat ride to camp. It was a beautiful day. Our first really warm day, around 60F degrees. It was Kaija's first boat ride of the season so she was excited. In Kotzebue the leaves are just barely coming out on the bushes around town....but out on the mainland across from Kotzebue just 10 miles away the leaves and flowers are already out.

DC
I am in Washington DC until Saturday evening. Internet at this hotel cost $15 bucks a day PER DEVICE! You would figure that after you pay $250 a night for the room the least they could do is throw in the Internet for free. I chose to use my iPad out of convenience. I had a few things I wanted to post but they are on my laptop so they will have to wait.
Back home in Korzebue it's time for Uruk (bearded seal) hunting. I'm anxious to get home to the cool weather and 24 hours of daylight. It always feels strange to be somewhere it is dark and warm outside. In Kotzebue it is NEVER dark and warm outside :)

Ravin' Ravens
.
My first boat ride of the season was yesterday. What a beautiful day. I took tons of photos that I plan on sharing over the next few days. I'm on my way to Fairbanks until Wednesday for work so I will post photos from the boat ride while I am gone.
As we were crossing Kotzebue sound boating along the ice these two ravens were having a midair fight.
